Welcome to the Pamir Highway! Dushanbe to Osh on Pamir Highway – 10 days   Day 1. Meeting at the hotel at 9-9.30AM. Dushanbe City to Khalaikum.   Today is the first day of the Pamir Highway trip. The road has been reconsrtucted recently and it will be a comfortable drive.  Start trip from Dushanbe to Khalaikhumb via Nurek water reservoir. It’s a world’s second-highest hydropower station. And visit 11th - century Hulbuk Fortess. After have a lunch at the Kulab city.  Deep rocky valleys and gorgeous mountains accompany you up to the Shurobod pass. There we will cross military and police chechpoints where starts Gorno Badahshan Autonomical Region (Oblast), the short form is GBAO and Pamir Highway. After this pass you will start seeing Afghanistan villages along the Pianj river. Pianj river is the border line of the Tajikistan and Afghanistan. After few hours driving we will reach Kaliaikum (new name Darvoz) where we will stop and accommodate our first day. Khalaikhum to Jizev Village to Khorog. Hiking elevation 429 meters (2066m-2495m) Kalaikumb to Bartang valley along the Pianj river, and drive to bridge where we will start our hike to Jizev. Duration of the hiking 5-6 hours. Going  up takes 3 hours and spend time there take a picture and have tea at the local family and back down to the car and drive to back to Khorog, overnight at hotel TEM.  • Driving distance/hour/ 344 km 5-7 hours • Altitude: Hiking elevation 429 meters (2066m-2495m) • Internet: No mobile coverage during hike but in Khorog Wi-Fi. • Electricity: available. • Facilities: Hotel private shower, western toilets in the room. Rooms for 2 people Twin room.   Day 3. Khorog - Ishkashim village  After Breakfast visit to the interesting Botanical Garden that has various plants and trees. After it drive Ishkashim via Garm Chashma hot springs. Lunch will be at Garm Chashma hot springs and after lunch have bath if you want. Afternoon drive to Ishkashim, Wakhan Valley. Ishkahsim to Langar    Breakfast. Right after you leave your guesthouse, we do a side trip to Khaaka fortress. |On the way you will see Great rugged Hindu Kush mountain ranges. Second stop 12th-century Yamchun Fortress rising from a platform of natural rock. Walk up to the edge of the fort and you will have an amazing view of the Wakhan Valley. Further up the hillside are located the hot springs of Bibi Fatima, with its crystal waters rich in minerals. Back to the main road. Overnight and dinner in a friendly homestay in Langar village. Shared rooms for up to 4 people.     Day 5. Wakhan Valley – Langar village – Bulunkul Lake – Maljuuran Hiking elevation 96 meters (4214m-4310m)   Breakfast. Enjoy the stunning mountain scenery of Great Pamir on the Afghan border on the way chance to admire the Big Pamir of Afghanistan with nomadic Afghan Kyrgyz caravans. From Kargush military checkpoint we will leave Wakhan Valley and head up to the Kargush pass (4 344m) and back to the main road Pamir Highway M41. Visit the Alpine Bulunkul and Yashylkul lakes. (here for Yashylkul National Park you will get ticket this ticket not included in the price) Arrive Maljuran Hot Springs Yurt camp and dinner and accommodation at Yurt Camp.   • Driving distance/hour: 240 km/ 149 mi/ 5 hours • Hike: 3–4 hours, reaching 4,310 m / 13,748 ft • Internet: No mobile coverage • Electricity: Solar Panels 12V, only for charging phones • Facilities: Shared indoor pool, outdoor western, and squat toilets at the Yurt stays. Shared rooms for up to 4 people.         Day 6. Maljuuran hot springs to Murgab town via Alichur village   Drive to Murgab via Alichur village, 5 hrs. On the way stop in Ak Balyk lake. Drive to Garty Gumbez valley and there you do hike to old Russian Observatory which was built during Soviet union time. From there you have chance to see Mustag-Ata high ice mountain in China. (if weather is good and clean blue sky). There we can have snacks. Drive to Murgab and have late Lunch and have rest. Free time if you want to walk and explore the town. Dinner and overnight in a Guest House Erali. • Driving distance/hour: 282 km / 219 mi – 5-6 hours • Hike: 1–2 hours, starting 4110m - reaching 4,292 m • Altitude: Murgab  3600 m / 12,631 ft • Internet: available in Murgab. Megafon 4G, Wi-Fi. • Electricity: Available • Facilities: Shared outdoor shower, outdoor western, and squat toilets at the homestays. Shared rooms for up to 4 people.       Day 7: Murgab town to Gumbozdu Kol Pass hiking in Pyshart Valley Hiking elevation 678 meters (4064m-4742m)   After breakfast take some picnic snacks and drive to Pyshart valley 30km. Hiking in Gumbozdu Kol Pass 4800 m. The driver will bring you to Gumbozdu Kol George and drop off you there and back to Murgab and after lunch driver to meet you from Madian side.  After 5 -6 hours you will meet with driver and he will bring you back to Murgab same guest house where you will take hot shower and have a rest and relax with green tea. • Driving distance/hour: 120 km/145mi – 2 hours • Hike: 4–5 hours, reaching 4742 m / 15,748 ft • Altitude: 3600m - 4742m / (Gumbozdu Kol Pass) • Internet: No internet available during the hike. • Electricity: Available in Murgab • Facilities: Traditional local home inside shared shower and toilet     Day 8: Murgab town – border crossings – Sary Mogol village   Today we will have breakfast and drive to Sary Mogol village.  Kyrgyzstan cross the border via the Drive via highest Pass of the Pamir Highway Ak-Baital pass 4655m. and stop at Karakul lake walk around the lake.  Karakul Lake is the largest lake in Pamirs, formed by glaciers, and has no outflow.  Take a picture and have Lunch at Kara -Kul lake. After Lunch drive to the border Tajikistan Kyzylart Pass standing at 4288m. Leave Tajikistan and enter Kyrgyzstan. The different landscape opens up confirming that this is Kyrgyzstan. Hiking elevation 630 meters (4130m-3500m) Breakfast at 8.00am  drive through bridge to the yurt camp at Tulparkul Lake (3500 m) next to Lenin Peak Base Camp, 40 minutes. After settling in, enjoy with the nature and start hike to View Point (4,130 m). The 3-hour ascent offers breathtaking views of glaciers tumbling down from Lenin Peak. After resting at the pass have Lunch and after Lunch, return to the yurt camp (2 hrs). When we back to the Yurt we have rest and have hot tea after it we will walk around the lake. Today we will finish our trip to drive towards to  Osh city from Tulpar Lake, 5hr. A nice valley opens when you reach Taldyk Pass (3600 meters) with red pastures and interesting Alay mountains views. Stop at Uch-Dobo view point and drive to Osh. When we arrive we will come to the local café where Atabek will prepare lunch and meet with us.
